DIY wasp trap

Wasps are little pests that come and bother us when we want to enjoy the garden or go out for a picnic in the park. They are also the enemies of bees. Here is a wasp trap that will catch them without harming the bees  for your great happiness and the happiness of the beekeepers  in your region:

Material :

– An empty plastic bottle
– Sugar
– Vinegar
– Salt
– A sharp knife

Steps to make this wasp trap:

With the knife, cut the top part of the plastic bottle as if to make a funnel.

To bait wasps , you need a sweet and sour mixture. So prepare a mixture of vinegar, sugar and salt and pour it inside the bottle. Other mixtures also work to attract wasps, such as beer and soda. A bit of meat in the mix might attract them too.

It will be difficult for wasps to escape from this trap, but you can make it even more difficult for them if you brush the inside walls with cooking oil.

Then place the already cut top part upside down without the cap as in the photo. This way, the wasps can easily enter from the top but will no longer be able to come out. Hold in place if necessary with adhesive tape.

This is an easy-to-make wasp catcher that won’t cost you anything. Up to you !
