How to Grow Aloe Vera with Strong and Healthy Leaves: Tips and Tricks


 Introduction:  The successful cultivation of aloe vera not only depends on basic care, but also on adequate nutrition. Although these plants are drought resistant, direct exposure to the sun can cause their leaves to wrinkle and turn brown. In this article, we will explore how to provide them with the right nutrition for lush, healthy leaves. 

Section 1: Base Preparation:  The first step to ensure healthy growth is to clean the base of the plant, removing the lower leaves to allow the roots to be exposed. We will use a natural fertilizer, the well-known eggshells, which contain more than 90% calcium carbonate and other essential minerals. After washing, drying and crushing the peels, we will add a teaspoon of this fertilizer to each aloe vera pot. Then, it must be watered properly to facilitate the absorption of nutrients. 

Section 2: Garlic Fertilizer to Protect Roots:  Two cloves of garlic are broken down and mixed with water to create a fertilizer that protects roots from possible fungal diseases. This fertilizer is applied monthly, ensuring a healthy environment for plant growth. 

Section 3: Medicinal Benefits of Aloe Vera:  Aloe vera is a plant rich in vitamins A, C, E and B, as well as hyaluronic acid. This elixir of youth can be applied externally to smooth wrinkles and restore a younger-looking skin. Before using the leaves, it is recommended to refrigerate them for 3 days to 2 weeks to further concentrate their nutrients. 

Subsection 3.1: Aloe Vera Ice Cubes:  The ends of the refrigerated leaves can be placed in water and then frozen into ice cubes. These are used to massage the face in the morning, reducing swelling and revitalizing the skin. 

Subsection 3.2: Immune System Boosting Juice:  Aloe vera leaves are blended and filtered to obtain a juice that strengthens the immune system and is effective against coughs and colds. This juice is consumed three times a day on an empty stomach. 

Section 4: Aloe Vera and Honey:  A recommended recipe is to mix fresh aloe vera gel with honey in equal proportions. We shake well so that the mixture combines, since the honey tends to settle to the bottom. This combination can be consumed to relieve cough, cold or simply to strengthen immunity.
