Very scented clothes with 1 tablespoon of this in the washing machine: impeccable clothes

When we open the closet we want to be sure to always have very fragrant clothes to wear and thus guarantee a soft but pleasant clean smell.

You don’t have to be a cleanliness and order maniac to want to  wear highly scented clothes.

Resorting to the precious help of scented detergents and/or fabric softeners is very useful, but nothing is as foolproof as formulas created with the sole purpose of  perfuming both the clothes and the inside of the closet.

Although there are aromas for all tastes, when it comes to clothing and wardrobe, none has as many followers as the one known as ‘clean smell’.

Why do some clothes smell bad?

Have you ever noticed that your clothes smell bad even after washing them? Many times our clothes can be  impregnated with bad odors  after taking them out of the washing machine and this is more common than you think.

There are several possible reasons why your “clean” clothes smell bad. And these include:

  • The washing machine is dirty
  • Clothes left in the washing machine.
  • smelly closet
  • Clothes that have been inside too long.

dirty washing machine

One possible cause of bad laundry odor is a dirty washing machine. Like other appliances,  the washing machine also needs cleaning at least once a month  : this includes the filter, rubber and drum.

To do this, you can set a short wash cycle, at 90 degrees Celsius, to clean it.

When you put clothes in the washing machine,  dirt can get trapped  in two specific areas: the drum seal and the detergent dispenser.

Over time, the mixture of soap, water, dirt and residue creates an ideal breeding ground for  unpleasant odors.

Clothes left in the washing machine.

Unpleasant odors form when  bacteria or mold  multiply in fabrics. The metabolic processes of microorganisms produce, among other things, compounds that contain sulfur, which we perceive due to their bad odor.

If you want to prevent your clothes from smelling bad, you must eliminate the sustenance of germs. The entire process must be hygienic and humidity must be avoided at all costs.

smelly closet

We all know how important it is  to ventilate our home daily  , equally our closets should be no less important.⠀ ⠀

Normally, in fact, we should get used to ventilating them, opening their doors wide and letting the fresh air that enters through the windows penetrate our closets, oxygenating our clothes.

If we do not carry out this process regularly we run the risk of them and everything we keep in them acquiring bad odors. Lack  of ventilation  is one of the causes that can cause that unpleasant smell in our closets, although it is not the only cause.

Clothes that have been inside too long.

It is normal to store summer clothes in winter and vice versa. But if this is not done correctly and the clothes remain inside for a long time, they can acquire  an unpleasant musty smell.

If this is common in your home, try saving aromatic bags with products such as jasmine, cinnamon, citrus, lavender, etc. next to your clothes.

Garments scented with lemon juice

It may seem strange, but  lemon juice is ideal for keeping clothes from stinking,  softening them and, above all, making them more fragrant.

Simply place 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of baking soda  in the detergent container and run the washing machine.

Thanks to lemon, you can also make a natural-based fabric softener by dissolving the juice of 2 lemons in 1 liter of water and adding 100 ml of product to each wash.

Washing clothes in this way not only removes all the dirt, but  also adds freshness and fragrance to our clothes.
