Cyclamen: Have you ever noticed the white balls in the vase? I explain what they are and how to eliminate them

If you want to dye your thumb green, you can start  caring for cyclamen  the right way.

Cyclamen is a plant  native to southern Europe and is a herbaceous plant with fragrant and vibrant flowers.

However, cyclamen today is cultivated throughout the world and used as  an ornamental flower . In fact, the flowers are of various colors and touch shades of pink, white, red and lilac.

Due to its beauty,  cyclamen has become very popular  for decorating home gardens and that is why growing it has become, for most people who love gardening, a true passion.

In fact, this plant is  very easy to care for  and is therefore available to everyone, even those who are taking their first steps in this world.

However, it may happen to see  small balls  among the flowers blooming in the vase.

Well, if you have also noticed them and you don’t know what they are and whether they should be eliminated or not, you just have to continue reading this page.

Cyclamen: that’s what the white balls you find among the flowers are.

If you have noticed  small balls among the cyclamen, you should definitely not be scared. These balls are simply seed containers that, when opened, will give birth to new plants.

But let’s go in order!

This plant is a plant that  blooms in winter  and  instead goes into a kind of hibernation in spring . However, during this period the cyclamen  is able to produce seeds for the new season . So the seeds are contained in these balls visible to the naked eye that  in summer mature until they fall to the ground and then open .

Precisely for this reason,  these growths should not be cut off,  but can be used in the correct way.

Cyclamen: this is how the balls containing the seeds are used

First of all, to determine how to use these seeds, it is necessary to make a distinction about where the cyclamen is placed. In fact, if the cyclamen is  in a large pot, it will not be necessary to remove these balls because  they will have the necessary space to develop and grow.

On the other hand, if the pot in which  the cyclamen is placed is small  or you want to create new seedlings , you can cut the spheres  and place them in another pot.

Cutting these balls is not difficult. You simply  have to cut them with a pair of tongs and then place them in a glass full of water . Leave the glass aside for a whole day.

The next day, all you need to do is move the  seeds to a pot containing the peat moss and then water everything the same way you would water the cyclamen plant.

It will take  about 2 months  to see the first sprouts appear. At that point, you can decide to plant them wherever you want.

The important thing to keep in mind is that the procedure we have just described must  be carried out in the middle of summer , that is, when the spheres have reached full maturity.

Below you will find a  video tutorial  to follow step by step in order to make each action even easier.
