Put the aluminum foil in the freezer, you save a lot of money. Plays!

Aluminum foil in the freezer, which we use to wrap and store food, can help us save on our bills.

How is this possible? We explain it to you!

Aluminum foil in the freezer saves you energy and 0 humidity: the method that works

Aluminum foil in the freezer is a brilliant trick, but it’s certainly not handed down from ancient times! Of course, it is a trick of younger grandmothers. The advent of the refrigerator, in fact, is recent, starting in the middle of the last century. In the economic boom of the 1950s, Italian families were gradually able to enjoy this innovative and decisive appliance for food preservation.

A significant jump in quality compared to winery refrigerators has also sharpened ingenuity.

Because? Simple! Since the first heating elements were not as good as the current ones, the formation of frost was really important, so much so that it clogged the compartment, covered the food in the freezer and prevented optimal operation. Modern grandmothers, then, were children and watched their mothers as they mastered using aluminum foil to solve the problem.

Let’s see how!

How to use aluminum foil correctly

To ensure optimal performance without affecting your electricity bill, a refrigerator and freezer must be free of frost and moisture. It is the latter, in fact, that leads to the formation of a layer of ice that can fatigue the device’s motor, pushing it to absorb more and more energy to function correctly.

To prevent this from happening, if our freezer is not equipped with a self-defrosting function, we must first free it from frost. Unplug it, empty it completely and insert a container of boiling water. We close the door, place some rags on the floor and after an hour, we open it again, opening it carefully. Now the ice will almost completely melt or be easy to peel off the walls.

Dry them carefully, then cover them with aluminum foil. It will act as an insulator, preventing the formation of humidity and, consequently, frost.

At the end of these operations, replace the plug: you will notice that the freezer will start working properly again with much less impact on consumption as well. Your food will be well preserved and your wallet will be safe!

Brilliant, right?
