Salt and bay leaves: the perfect and natural mixture against bad odors in the home

The kitchen is the room in the house where bad odors are most likely to form. Fortunately, there are natural remedies to solve this type of problem, from lemon zest to coffee grounds, from white wine vinegar to slices of bread for sandwiches.

Various bad odors can easily accumulate in the kitchen, but the good news is that they cannot be eliminated. It’s easy too with some natural remedies.

For the frying smell, for example, just boil a few bay leaves in water. The steam will absorb all odors. If you want, you can add some lemon slices , a few cinnamon sticks and bunches to the boiling water . Then use water and white wine vinegar for dishes that contain strong odors (for example those of eggs): Leave everything to soak for an hour and you will see that your dishes will no longer have the same smell as before. Instead, to eliminate odors from cutting boards, use lemon zest , put it on the cutting board and then rinse it with warm water.

To rinse the sink, take a glass of hot vinegar and pour in some coarse salt . Let it rest for an hour and then pour boiling water over it to remove any residue.

For lunch trays, which usually absorb odors from the food inside them, wipe them down with a slice of sliced bread soaked in vinegar and then leave them in the container overnight. With this natural remedy you can capture any odor.

Finally, to capture refrigerator odors , pour some coffee grounds into a bowl. Then leave it on a shelf in the refrigerator to absorb bad smells.
