If there’s one thing that bothers me, it’s that the drain in my fridge is clogged.

You already know it? The one who’s behind.

There’s always a piece of lettuce and more dirt on it!

Not only does this cause mold to form, but it also causes water to build up everywhere in the fridge…

But also towards the outside world if you don’t do anything to solve it.

Luckily, technician Darty explained to me how to unclog and clean the refrigerator drain hole.

It’s easy with this simple tutorial. Look at that:

How it goes

  1. Unplug the device from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the shelf next to the hole and the vegetable container.
  3. Use a sponge to dry the water under the vegetable drawer and in the drain.
  4. Take a cotton ball.
  5. Soak in white vinegar.
  6. Start by running it around the outline of the opening.
  1. Then insert it deep into the hole and move it back and forth.
  2. Pour some warm water to remove dirt.

And you can easily unblock the refrigerator drain opening

Fast, practical and effective, right?

Water no longer flows due to a blocked drain!

It’s a very simple trick. You just have to think about it!

Cleaning the refrigerator drain is really easy.

And it helps to empty the fridge.

The water is now flowing normally.

No more flooding under the dresser and no more mold!

And have you noticed? This way you also eliminate bad smells.

What item should you use to clean refrigerator drain?

The best way to clean your refrigerator drain is to use a special tool called a spargetti.

You can find it here and it also works for the freezer.

But as we just saw, you can also use a simple cotton swab if you don’t have one.

And it also works with a plastic straw, a small bottle brush, a flexible steel wire or a self-locking cable tie.

How do I avoid clogging?
It’s best not to clog the famous hole.

To do this, simply do not put any food at the back of the refrigerator.

For example, lettuce, carrots or other vegetables should not touch the back wall of the refrigerator.

This keeps dirt and plants away from the hole.

This is also the reason why some shelves have a small edge.

This eliminates the temptation to spend all the way to the end!

Also remember to clean your refrigerator regularly.

This is a great way to remove any dirt that may have been lost in the hole.

It’s best to do a major cleaning every three months.

Why does it work?
White vinegar cleans and disinfects the edges of the hole.

It also removes traces of mold that have formed.

The soft rod can be used to remove stuck-on dirt from the hole. Serves as a drain cleaner.

And the spilled water helps flush them out.

This opening allows access to the waste tank above the refrigerator compressor.

It is therefore important that it is well clogged.

Otherwise, the water will collect and drip onto the kitchen floor.

Attention: Do not use bleach!

And you should know that this trick works on all brands of refrigerators:

Bosch, Whirlpool, Samsung, Liebherr, but also for American refrigerators or built-in refrigerators.
