Use this technique to get firm, juicy lemons for 4 weeks! They won’t mold!

Are you looking for  the best solution to keep lemons fresh longer  ? Here’s the tip you’ve been waiting for.

Most families tend to  purchase lemons in bulk . And while they can last a long time in a bowl of water, they eventually shrivel and wilt. Here’s the best way to store lemons and keep them fresh longer.

It’s not that unpleasant  to keep lemons in a nice bowl to put on the countertop or kitchen table . But that doesn’t make citrus last.

If left at room temperature, lemons last only a week. They can dry out, leaving less juice and a harder rind.

If you want to  increase their shelf life , the best thing to do is  store them in the refrigerator . However, you need to know how and where to store them in the refrigerator to make a difference.

Place them  in a sealed bag or container in the refrigerator . This way, citrus fruits last four times longer than when stored at room temperature. This step prevents the lemons from drying out and keeps them fresh for up to a month.

If you like to keep lemons on the counter or in a nice bowl, use them  within four or five days . The same advice goes for limes.

You can also  save the rest of a lemon  if you have sliced it to remove only a piece.

If you only used half the lemon,  wrap the pulp part in cling film  or place it in an airtight container. It can be kept for a few days.

Also, cut the rest of the lemon into slices and place them in a plastic container suitable for freezing. You can use the frozen slices for your drinks.

As for lemon juice, it can  be kept for a few days in the refrigerator  without its flavor being altered. It can be used in cooking or baking within two weeks. You can also freeze the rest of the juice in ice cube trays.
