There are garments and fabrics that require low temperatures, while others become clean only at high temperatures. Experts point out that in most cases it would be better not to wash at 60 degrees: but what happens? Let’s try to clarify.
How do you choose the appropriate temperature for your washing machine?
Experts have noticed that most of the time no one is able to set the correct temperature of the washing machine. The first thing to do is read the label following the manufacturer’s recommendations. Some fabrics require low temperatures, while others should be hand washed.
While washing at 60 degrees is not always recommended, only for some types of fabrics, in other cases we are faced with a basic difficulty.
It is important not to always choose the same temperature, doing a single wash without distinction. This is because, as mentioned, there are some fibers that could be damaged during washing. Not only that, the primary objective is certainly to clean but also to sanitize and remove bacteria.
Wash at 60 degrees: is it always allowed or not recommended?
The ideal temperature to eliminate germs and bacteria is 40° and 50°. Of course, modern and technologically advanced household appliances use very special programs to sanitize various fabrics. The dedicated treatment is hot dry air with temperatures not exceeding 40°.
The same goes for sheets, which should be washed at temperatures up to 60° and no higher. In general, it would be best to never exceed 40° in order to destroy bacteria, sanitize and obtain impeccable cleanliness.
