The main tax advantages planned for the replacement of old windows and blinds in 2023 are the 2023 Restructuring Bonus and the 110% Superbonus. The 2023 Restructuring Bonus provides for a 50% tax deduction for expenses incurred to replace accessories and exterior blinds. The deduction is calculated on the amount of expenses incurred and can be obtained up to a maximum of 96,000 euros. On the other hand, the Superbonus 110% provides for a cash refund of 110% of the expenses incurred by replacing windows and blinds, with a maximum spending limit of 60,000 euros. Repayment is made in five equal annual installments. Both incentives are intended for owners, but also for condominiums and companies. It is important to remember that to access the bonuses,

The requirements to access the 2023 window bonus

To access the 2023 bonus for old windows and blinds, the following requirements must be met:

  • Be a resident in Italy and own or rent a home;
  • Have paid the taxes corresponding to the previous year and have no debts with the Tax Agency;
  • The old window or blind must have been installed for at least 10 years and must be replaced with a new one, which meets the energy efficiency requirements established by legislation;
  • The new window or shutter must be installed in the same building where the old one was, and must be intended for residential use;
  • The expense for the purchase and installation of new windows or blinds must be documented by invoices or tax receipts, which must be kept for at least 10 years;
  • The tax credit is recognized only for expenses actually incurred and documented, and cannot exceed the maximum limit established by law;
  • The replacement must be carried out by a qualified company or professional.

It is necessary that the windows and blinds to be replaced are old and do not meet the minimum thermal insulation requirements established by current legislation. In addition, new windows and shutters must meet certain technical requirements, such as energy efficiency, resistance to wind loads and air permeability.
