2. Don’t let the rooms ventilate
Bleach is a great disinfectant, but as we mentioned, it could be dangerous if inhaled . It is very important to air the rooms after use. It would also be best to wear a mask and gloves to protect your hands.
3. Using excessive amounts of bleach
Bleach is already a powerful disinfectant and there is no need to overdose. In fact, just a few drops are enough for it to work. Also, remember that it is always good to dilute it with COLD water, never hot.
Excessive doses of bleach only cause damage and do not disinfect surfaces better. Even for clothing, just a few drops are enough.
4. Dilute the bleach with warm water
We mentioned it in point three. Bleach should not be mixed with hot water, but only with cold water, lukewarm at best. Hot water evaporates chlorine, one of the key elements that makes bleach an excellent disinfectant.
5. Removing bleach too soon
Bleach makes stains and various dirt disappear from surfaces in a short time. Of course, you have to give it time to take effect. Many make the mistake of removing bleach too soon, either for the simple reason of being in a hurry or because they fear it will damage surfaces. However, bleach does not cause any damage to non-delicate surfaces, so let it sit for a few minutes.
6. Use bleach on metal, marble and parquet surfaces
Let’s go back to the delicate surfaces we mentioned in point 5: bleach cannot be used on all types of surfaces. Let’s keep it away from copper or steel because it could corrode them. Don’t make the mistake of wanting to use bleach to remove the rust, as that will only make the stain harder .
Bleach should never be used on delicate floors such as marble or parquet. You could ruin them and create stains that will never go away!
7. Disinfect fruits and vegetables with bleach
Using bleach to disinfect food is strongly discouraged .
If you really feel the need, just one tablespoon is enough to pour into at least 3 liters of water and the vegetables should soak for no more than 5 minutes, and you should rinse them well under running water immediately afterwards.
8. Do bleaches really clean?
It’s time to clarify a crucial point: bleach doesn’t clean, it disinfects . There is a big difference between the two and care should be taken in how we use this product. Bleach should only be used after you have cleaned surfaces with soap and water or another cleaner. Only then can we disinfect properly. So let’s not make the mistake of replacing bleach with other cleaners.
And always remember, without exception, to rinse the surfaces on which it has been used.
