3 tricks to recover the color of faded or worn clothes (and make them look like new again)

Nobody likes to see that, over time, their favorite clothes appear  faded or worn out  , so much so that they have to be given up. In reality, it is not necessary to get rid of faded clothes: there are tricks that allow us to recover their initial appearance.

The secret is to make small changes: short wash cycles with cold water. According to a recent study published in a specialized journal, fabrics rub against each other and lose more color pigments during long washing cycles.

Additionally, the hotter the water, the more the fibers swell, which contributes to color loss and increased wear and tear on the garment.

Below we propose  3 tricks to recover the color of faded or worn clothes  .

1. Saltwater trick

Fill a bucket with cold water, adding ice if possible. Add a handful of salt and mix well.

Soak the garment in water for about 20 minutes, then rinse and let dry in a shaded, well-ventilated place.

2. Potato trick

Submerge the discolored item in a pot full of water. Bring to a boil and add the previously peeled potatoes.

Turn off the heat and wait about 10 minutes, then let it cool, drain and wash as normal.

3. Makeup with bay leaf and baking soda

Pour 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 10 bay leaves into a bucket full of hot water. Soak the discolored garment in the solution for 20 minutes and then rinse.

Now that you know what the  three tricks are to recover the color of your faded clothes  , try to put them into practice so you don’t have to give up your favorite clothes.
