Seeing it like this, despair sets in: that dark ring around the toilet is truly horrible, a melting pot of bacteria, lime and mold. The silicone, which was originally transparent and invisible, has been completely covered in dirt. And it’s disgusting. But getting rid of any waste is simple. Don’t worry, you won’t ruin your floor with our tips.
Here’s how to use natural remedies for a really clean and disinfected bathroom!
I’ll explain how to get rid of the dark ring around the toilet without ruining the floor.
Before listing all the effective ingredients to eliminate that unsightly black ring around the toilet, it is important to note that, whatever remedy you decide to adopt, you must let it act for a good half hour, once placed, so that it can act and destroy any residue, without ruining the floor. Therefore, we will not repeat the processing time every time, but let us know that the procedure is always the same. These are the 4 steps to follow:
- application of the mixture or a single reagent,
- 30 minutes waiting,
- clutch with a soft sponge,
- cleared up.
Another recommendation is essential: do not rub the silicone excessively because you could peel it off and compromise the watertightness of the toilets.
Now that you know everything, let’s get to the point!
Remedies for stubborn dirt around the toilet
Let’s start with white vinegar , one of the descalers par excellence! Simply soak a sponge in vinegar and rub it over the black circle. Leave it on for half an hour, rub again and rinse. Or you can use microfiber cloth makeup. Soak it in pure vinegar, then wrap it around the base of the toilet and let it sit for 2 hours. Remove it and rinse. Easy, right?
Be careful though, don’t use it on natural stone or marble floors because it could ruin them!
Let’s move on to baking soda, which is also well known when it comes to household cleaning. Make a thick, full-bodied paste by pouring the water in a trickle, then spread it over the affected area.
Citric acid is also a powerful cleaner with a whitening and descaling effect. Mix 150 grams in a liter of water, pour the liquid into a vaporizer and spray the affected area.
Hydrogen peroxide fights mold and prevents its formation, it should be used pure on dark circles, but be careful! Colors are known to fade, so do not put it in contact with delicate surfaces.
If you’ve tried them all, but nothing has worked, all you have to do is make this cleaning mixture.
Obtain:
- hydrogen peroxide, 1 <>/<> tablespoons
- Marseille liquid or dissolved in flakes, 2 tablespoons of soap
- baking soda, 2 tablespoons
Mix the ingredients in a small bowl, when the mixture is thick, apply it to the black ring and let it sit overnight. The next day, rub lightly and the only thing that will be left is the memory of all that dirt.
Be careful though, if the floor is delicate, don’t add hydrogen peroxide!
