400 g of mozzarella

cooked ham ½ l of béchamel
100 g of butter
1 stock cube
1.5 l of water
600 g of penne
½ l of pasta cooking water
Parsley
Pepper
1 sachet of saffron

How to make Sicilian penne au gratin?
In a saucepan, mix 1.5 liters of water with the broth, butter, saffron and pepper.
Boil everything and throw away the penne.
Let them cook.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Cut the ham and mozzarella into cubes.
Place them in a bowl with the chopped parsley and the béchamel.
Add the parmesan and mix.
Drain the pasta halfway through cooking and add it to the mixture.
Gradually add ½ l of cooking water, stirring.
Transfer everything into a baking dish.
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Cook for about twenty minutes.
Serve the Sicilian penne au gratin.
