Why the lemon plant does not bloom: possible causes and solutions.

Why the lemon plant does not bloom: possible causes and solutions.

If you have noticed that your lemon plant is struggling to bloom, these could be the reasons.

The lemon plant   is a very common tree, known not only for its fruits but also for its fragrant flowers.

Very often, however, this plant may have difficulty  flowering , indicating that something is wrong.

Let’s see what the causes could be  .

    1.  Plant maturity : if the plant is young, it is not yet capable of producing flowers. In fact, only mature plants flower, so not those that have just been planted or propagated.
    2. Season : for plants, seasonality is essential, and must be respected. As for lemons, the flowering season falls in spring and early fall, which is when temperatures are suitable.
    3. Nutrients : A well-fed plant is healthy and strong and can develop, which is why it also produces flowers. These nutrients can be supplemented through the use of natural fertilizers.
    4. Light : Exposure to sunlight also plays a key role. If the plant is placed in the shade, it will have difficulty flowering, since the lemon needs at least 5-6 hours of direct light per day.
    5. Water : This plant needs a lot of water to grow. However, a balance needs to be found to prevent too much water from damaging it further.
    6. Insects : As with all plants, even lemons can fall victim to insects that undermine their health. For this reason it is important to protect it with organic pesticides.
