Roses are very popular plants, for this reason it is common to grow them in pots both at home and on balconies to enjoy the wonderful flowers they produce .
To keep them blooming longer and prevent them from wilting quickly, there are little tricks to put in place.
Let’s see what they are.
- Pot : the container that houses the plant plays a fundamental role in its development, so an ideal one must be chosen. The ideal material is terracotta, while the size depends on the plant. The important thing is that the roots have the necessary space to expand without obstacles.
- Soil : To avoid stagnant water, it is advisable for roses to choose a soil with a draining component.
- Light : roses need good sun exposure to grow, so they should be placed in a bright place but still protected from frost.
- Water : regarding irrigation, these should be frequent but not excessive. Water when you start to notice the soil drying out, but avoid wetting the leaves.
- Pruning : to have prolonged flowering it is advisable to cut old or unhealthy branches. This operation should ideally be done at the end of winter.
