Praise God with all your heart today!
I disinfect dish towels exactly like my grandmother taught me! Very white and clean result!
The rags used to clean the house must in turn be disinfected periodically, so the pot method ensures complete and deep sanitization.
They collect germs and bacteria, especially when used in the kitchen and bathroom and cannot be neglected, the health of all family members depends on it.
Replace them often, to alternate them and always ensure a deep and reliable clean.
There is more than one way to do it, but perhaps the best is to boil.
Be careful not to burn yourself and wait for them to cool before draining.
In this article, apart from the pot method, I will also show you some other natural remedies that are effective and useful for the purpose.

The pot method for cleaning rags, like my grandmother used to do
The pot method restores even the dirtiest, dustiest rags and disinfects them thoroughly. The method my grandmother taught me is to fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a few lemons (even already squeezed ones are fine), a few drops of tea tree oil, an essential oil that is not only fragrant, but also has overt antibacterial properties. Turn off the heat and soak the rags . The high temperatures act as a natural degreaser and kill all the germs on their own.
Wait for the water to cool completely before wringing out the kitchen towels and hanging them to dry. Repeat this at least once a week.
But this is not the only way to guarantee deep hygiene.
Let’s take a look at the others.
Natural remedies to clean kitchen cloths.
Vinegar and baking soda, lemon juice, Marseille soap, hydrogen peroxide, are natural remedies that are always present in our homes.
Hydrogen peroxide also has bleaching power and will make your light cloths spotless, don’t use it on colored ones! Pour a heaping glass into a bowl of hot water, then let the kitchen towels soak for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Finally, squeeze them and spread them out.
The juice of two lemons , diluted in a container with hot water, also has disinfectant and whitening functions, but also softening functions. Try leaving the cloths for two hours in this mixture and you will see how shiny they are!
In this list, the combination of vinegar and baking soda cannot be missing : very powerful and anti-odor disinfectants, they are capable of thoroughly sanitizing fabrics, even the most compromised ones. Follow the disinfection process closely, rubbing the kitchen towels every half hour to deeply degrease them.
Let’s finish with a great classic: Marseille soap : rub it directly on the parts most soaked in dust, grease, grease and dirt, then let the rags soak for half an hour in a bowl of hot water. Rinse them and spread them out.
Now you know everything about home cleaning and your favorite tools will support you for a long time!
