Cobwebs in the house: the secret trick to get rid of them forever
Even if we are very careful in cleaning the house, it happens that we find cobwebs on the ceiling or in the corners of the house.
The fact that spiders find a suitable environment for their settlement should not discourage us, it does not mean that our home is dirty or abandoned to neglect, quite the opposite.
Its presence often denotes a dry, well-ventilated and healthy environment. Not only that, there are those who claim that spiders bring good luck, even simply because they act as a natural insecticide by trapping mosquitoes and flies. It is clear that it is not pleasant to encounter a spider web.
The first temptation is to destroy it with a broom handle, but in this way we only remove the tip of the iceberg. We must try to eradicate it, that is, get rid of the spider itself. However, if we have four-legged friends, the situation becomes complicated, we will need natural products. In truth, it would be advisable to use them in any case because industrial pest control contains chemicals that are also harmful to our health and certainly to that of the environment.
How to do it then? Easy! Let’s see it together!
Cobwebs in the house: this is the secret trick to get rid of them permanently
First of all, once we have identified a spider web, we close all the holes in the walls with putty. If you’re not very good at handling it, let’s try silicone.
We then vacuum to catch each white filament, then spray a solution of water (1 liter) and white wine vinegar (1 glass).
Now let’s leave some orange peels scattered near doors and windows: their pungent smell will keep the spiders away.
Aromatic plants can also support us in this cause: lavender, mint, thyme, garlic and lemongrass act as natural repellents.
Furthermore, if we are lucky enough to be able to enjoy a green outdoor space, let’s illuminate it with blue or yellow LEDs, they will keep insects away and we will be able to enjoy our summer afternoons to the fullest.
But we never neglect a thorough cleaning both externally and internally, any accumulation of dust is an uncontrollable lure for spiders… And then we would have to start all over again!
