Put a single basil leaf in a glass and something you would never imagine will happen!
Whether it’s a potted plant , a bunch or a few leaves, basil is certainly not lacking in our kitchens. Its fresh and delicious aroma is perfect for flavoring many dishes.
Even though basil is a very common aromatic plant , it is at the same time very delicate because frosts do not help it stay in perfect shape. If left like this, the plant may gradually die. When the plant has become dry , examine it carefully. If it still has a pristine green leaf, gently remove it and we will show you how to use it.
Take a basil leaf and use it as follows! You won’t believe your eyes!
Those who have a passion for gardening and a green thumb will certainly know how to reproduce plants by cutting . This very simple process consists of taking a part of the plant to place in water or soil . Then you have to wait for the missing parts to regenerate. It is an easy, fast and above all economical method to grow your own plants at home. And that’s exactly what we want to do today, starting from a basil leaf .
To grow your basil plant using the cutting method, you will need to use a healthy basil leaf that must not have any spots. Try to detach it as close as possible to the main branch to facilitate germination .
Then immerse the leaf in a glass of water. If using tap water, let it sit for 24 hours before soaking the leaf. In about 7-10 days you will be able to see the first roots. Keep in mind that the water in the glass must never run out. If you notice that there is little left, add more immediately.
Now that the first roots are present, plant your basil leaf in light soil and moisten it slightly until the seedling is well rooted in the soil.
And here you are with your new basil plant !
