HOW TO REMEDY WHITE ITEMS THAT HAVE BECOME PINK AFTER A BAD WASH


How many times have you happened  to remove the laundry from the washing machine  and find  a white shirt that has turned pink  without being able to fix it?

Vinegar

To whiten  a shirt or  shirt that has turned pink, it is advisable to act as soon as possible. And now we will discover how to use vinegar  as a natural remedy  for a washing mistake .

The first thing to do is rinse the clothes with  pink stains  before they dry completely. The  heat , in fact, could help the color to set and thus make it difficult to remove.

Then prepare the  washing machine  or a basin and add  a cup of vinegar to the wash .

If the pink stain persists, soak the stained clothing in a basin with  water  and  two glasses of vinegar  overnight. Then, proceed with washing.

Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide  is  also a grandmother’s remedy for faded clothes , but also  for eliminating sweat stains  under the armpits, as you can see in this video:

We usually use it to  disinfect small wounds  and for this reason hydrogen peroxide is never missing in the house! But not everyone knows that it has  whitening properties  and that it is also useful  for laundry . It can be a valid alternative  to remedy a bad wash .

All you need to do  is add a spoonful of it  to your usual ecological detergent in the washing machine, insert the stained clothes and proceed with the usual wash.

Bicarbonate

Another  remedy  you can use to  recover your pink-stained clothes  is  baking soda .

This ingredient promotes the natural whiteness of clothes and is therefore very useful for  whitening faded items  or items with  pink stains.

Then pour  a spoonful into the drum of your washing machine  and then wash the items to be recovered. Goodbye pink spots !

Sodium percarbonate

Another remedy that we recommend  for whitening clothes that have turned pink  is  sodium percarbonate . This is an  ecological alternative remedy to bleach  and is therefore able to bring the garments back to their initial whiteness.

It comes in the form of a white powder and you can use it for both  hand  and  machine washing . In fact, it is also a phenomenon  for very stained tea towels :

For  white clothes that have become pink , just use  a measuring spoon  (or two, depending on the load) of percarbonate in the  washing machine drum and proceed with a high temperature  wash  , at least  50 degrees , otherwise the percarbonate will not activate.

If you want to wash  by hand , add a measuring spoon to a basin of  hot water.

Then add your clothes and  leave them to soak for  a few hours  or even overnight. Then, proceed with the common washing.

Your clothes will return to the shining white color again!

NB  Percarbonate is not suitable for microfibre, rayon, silk or wool fabrics. It is also advisable to always use gloves.

Lemon

Lemon is also   known for its  degreasing and whitening properties , although less effective than the other suggested ingredients.

All you need to do is  boil some water with some lemon slices .

Then soaking the faded laundry. Leave it  to soak for a few hours  and then proceed to wash it as normal. The pink spots will fade away!

How to avoid extinction and heads

Remember, in fact, that prevention is the sure way to avoid having damaged clothing.

First of all, we advise you to be careful when  separating your clothes  and make sure you only put white items in the washing machine .

Furthermore, also check the washing machine to make sure there are no  objects that could damage  and fade your clothes. Finally, check if there are any trims or buttons that could stain your clothing.

Clothes can turn pink or gray after incorrect washing. For this reason, always divide the laundry well before doing the washing machine. Then use a scoop of sodium percarbonate in the washing machine as a natural and whitening additive.

How to remove stains from a garment that has taken on another color?

If a white item takes on another colour, we can soak it in a basin with hot water and a spoonful of sodium percarbonate. If the dress is colored, we can try to remove stains naturally by pre-treating with Marseille soap, and then proceed with normal washing.

How to whiten a white t-shirt without bleach?

You can make a shirt white again without using bleach, but using two tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda, to dissolve in the basin. Then leave it on overnight.

How to remove pink color from clothes?

To remove stains from clothes, even in the case of stubborn pink stains, you can also try laundry soda. A spoonful (25g) is enough in addition to your usual washing machine detergent.
