TIRAMISU CAKE


Ingredients:

For the cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 150g sugar
  • 120 g wheat flour
  • 30 g cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

For the coffee:

  • 1 cup of strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)

For the mascarpone cream:

  • 500 g mascarpone cheese
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 150g sugar
  • 1 cup whipping cream

Decor:

  • Cocoa powder to sprinkle
  • Grated chocolate (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preparation of the cake:
    • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
    • In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until fluffy.
    • Sift the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder over the egg mixture and mix with enveloping movements.
    • Pour the mixture into a previously greased cake pan.
    • Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Let the cake cool completely.
  2. Coffee preparation:
    • Prepare the coffee strong and add the sugar and coffee liqueur (if you are using).
  3. Preparation of mascarpone cream:
    • In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
    • In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until foamy.
    • Add the egg mixture to the mascarpone and mix well.
    • In another bowl, beat the whipping cream until it holds soft peaks.
    • Add the whipped cream to the mascarpone mixture with gentle, enveloping movements.
  4. Tiramisu Cake Assembly:
    • Cut the cake into thin layers.
    • Place a layer of cake in the bottom of a cake pan.
    • Soak the cake with the prepared coffee.
    • Add a layer of the mascarpone cream.
    • Repeat the layers until you run out of ingredients, ending with a layer of mascarpone cream on top.
    • Refrigerate the Tiramisu Cake for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to settle.
  5. Decor:
    • Before serving, sprinkle cocoa powder over the top of the cake.
    • If you wish, you can decorate with grated chocolate.
