When it comes to renovating a home there are many details and projects that need to be carried out, in Italy there are many dated apartments that deserve a second chance.
Architect Melanie Nunez knows this well and decided to renovate an apartment built at the beginning of the 20th century, giving it a classic and contemporary style at the same time, without defacing its centuries-old beauty but highlighting it and making it truly unique.
This home has become a dream and splendor in every detail, but the real protagonist is certainly the terrace . Every element of this apartment is distinctive and unique, so it is no wonder that it has become popular and an inspiration to many.
A dream home in which the terrace is the protagonist, we find it in Milan
If you are about to renovate your apartment or are looking for inspiration to do so, then you have come to the right place. The apartment we will tell you about is a real dream, every corner has been carefully studied, every furnishing accessory chosen with care and dedication.
This apartment is located in the city of Milan and was created inside a building built in the early 1900s , the renovation did not make it lose its centuries-old beauty but rather emphasized it with a perfect mix between classic and contemporary .
Melanie Nunez took care of the renovation and chose to make one particular room of the house the protagonist, namely the terrace.Renovation project – Imilanesi.nanopress.it
The apartment opens with an open living room that leads to the kitchen and dining room. To furnish the living room, the Pacific armchairs and the sofa were chosen, both created by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso.
Low, circular tables made by Evans Product in a 1940s style host vases by Venini and Paola C.. Other vases by these two artists have been arranged on the fireplace made of scratched brass which was conceived from a design by Melanie Nunez.
Also in this room we encounter the Tales of Oppositions woodcut created by Federico Boriani and a floor lamp created by Paavo Tynell, Gubi. The room is very bright thanks also to the large windows that overlook the terrace and allow light to enter.
On the other side of the living room we encounter another sofa in a neutral shade also made by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso, the model is Gogan, next to it there is a floor lamp which has a stem made of bronze and was created by the Avallone Laboratory.
Inside the dining room we encounter more contemporary lines with the Verglas model table by Piero Lissoni created for Glas Italia. Accompanying the table we find the Murena S2 chairs which were made by Marta Sala Editions and which have the Shanghai fabric by Pierre Frey.
Here too we find a floor lamp, this time it is the same previous model, i.e. 9602, by Paavo Tynel, Gubi in a different colour, however.
The dining room features a Mitica folding door made by ADL which features an important material such as glass laminated with linen fabric, aesthetically beautiful. This wing of the house is also very bright thanks to the large windows that are present.
The kitchen was tailor-made and designed specifically for this apartment, it was chosen to use green marble with columns which are instead in stained oak and which were created by Henry Timi.
The stools present around the central island are accompanied by two Tractor model stools made by Craig Bassam for BassamFellows. On the island top we find a vase of the Clay model by Formafantasma made for Bitossi Ceramiche.
The house has a service bathroom where we find a custom-made marble sink, the taps chosen are by Axor One and the accompanying mirror is Split by Ariake and we also find the Blade wall light made by Baxter.
The bedroom was created in shades of teal blue, features the Embrace bed created by Note Design Studio, a Pianca and Bikini wall lamp created by Servomuto.
The dream terrace that everyone would like
After describing the entire house, it’s time to describe the dream terrace that is envied by everyone. The terrace involves the entire living area, therefore giving a lot of brightness to the home. On the terrace we encounter a table created by Tommaso di Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksak for Zeus.
Accompanying the table we find chairs of the August model created by Vincent Van Duysen for Serax. Two lamps have been placed on the table which are portable and were made by Como of &Tradition.
