How to grow a lemon tree from a lemon seed?
You may not know it, but everything is good in lemon. Indeed, it is not uncommon to use lemon zest, this small piece of citrus peel, in cooking to bring a refreshing and tangy taste to many culinary preparations. Located between the zest and the segments of the fruit, the zest can be grated to flavor pastries and desserts . The supremes can be taken to make all kinds of dishes, whether savory or sweet. But, what about lemon seeds? What can they be used for? If you think they are doomed to end up at the bottom of the trash, then you are wrong!

If you don’t know this, know that it is possible to grow and obtain a lemon tree using lemon seeds. You will now be able to get magnificent lemons at home ! To achieve this, simply follow the following method:
Get a lemon , cut it in half and collect the seeds from this citrus fruit. Do not hesitate to collect 4 or 5 in order to put all the chances of success on your side.
Take a glass and fill it with lukewarm water then slip in the lemon seeds that you collected previously.
Get a piece of absorbent paper that you have moistened with water, you can use the water present in the glass. Then place the lemon seeds there, covering them with another piece of absorbent paper. Finally, put everything in a zipped plastic bag and place it in a dark place.
After 10 days , you can open the sachet. From then on, you will see that the seeds have germinated.
Take a few pots that you will fill with potting soil and in which you will plant the lemon seeds while watering them with water. Furthermore, don’t worry if absorbent paper is stuck on the seeds, this will not affect their growth.

Remember to gradually place your pots in a sunny area of the house, keeping the soil constantly moist. After around twenty days and being exposed to full light for at least 8 hours, you will notice the appearance of the first shoots.
If after two months, you notice that all of your seeds have emerged at the same time, consider separating them by putting each in a pot.
Once the baby lemon tree outgrows it, you can transplant it to a larger one or even a garden. Note also that it is advisable to plant the seeds at the end of winter or early spring.
