ingredients

  • 300 g (2 cups) flour
  • 1 egg
  • 45 g (1/4 cup) sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 7 g of dry yeast
  • 140 ml (3/5 cup) hot milk
  • 40 g (1/4 cup) softened butter
  • For decoration
  • Whipped Cream
  • Chopped strawberries
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, yeast and milk and stir to dissolve.
  2. Beat the egg. Add the flour and salt and start mixing the dough with a spatula. Then continue to knead with your hands until you obtain an elastic dough.
  3. Add the softened butter and continue kneading until the butter is well incorporated into the dough.
  4. Form the dough into a ball, cover it with a cloth or cling film and let it rise for an hour.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 parts and form each into a ball. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly and roll again into a ball. Cover and let rest for another 30 minutes.
  7. Fry the balls in boiling oil over low heat for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  8. Allow to cool slightly and cut in half lengthwise, like a hamburger bun.
  9. Garnish one half with whipped cream and chopped strawberries, close with the other half, dust with icing sugar and serve.
