How to hydrate plant roots before replanting them

If you have just purchased a plant or have had it for a long time, it is likely that you will need  to repot it  : that is, move it to a   more suitable size  container to ensure that its roots  can grow unhindered.

Potting can be a delicate moment for the plant itself, as it can suffer a shock. Therefore, you can proceed  by hydrating  the roots so that they absorb water and  nutrients  .

Let’s see how to do it correctly.

Necessary

  • 2 small red onions
  • Container
  • Waterfall
  • Bucket
  • 2 pieces of aloe vera

Method

  1. First, remove the seedling from the original pot.
  2. Cut the onion into small pieces and place in a container with 600 ml of water.
  3. Also add the aloe vera, squeezing it with your fingers to extract the gel inside.
  4. Pour the solution into a bucket or basin and dilute it with 2 liters of water.
  5. Place the plant inside, making sure the roots are completely submerged.
  6. Leave it to act for an hour.
  7. Now transfer the plant to the new pot with the soil of your choice.
