Deodorant stains on clothes: grandma’s methods.

Deodorant stains a lot, especially cotton t-shirts. If it is a white t-shirt, the marks are likely to turn yellow, creating an aesthetically unpleasant stain. The risk is having to throw away a beloved t-shirt just because the marks won’t go away.

Before discovering which ingredient to use to remove deodorant stains from clothes in one minute, there are other small tricks to put into practice that require more time.

The first method  involves the use of a product that we all have at home:  hydrogen peroxide.  Hydrogen peroxide can be used in dozens of different ways, it has disinfectant and sanitizing properties. If you have a deodorant-stained shirt near your armpits, you can choose to practice this trick.  Mix half a cup of hydrogen peroxide with two cups of cold water.  Your garment will need to soak for thirty minutes in this liquid solution. Remember that hydrogen peroxide only works to remove stains from white clothing, it could ruin bright colors. Also make sure it’s cotton or polyester: it would ruin fabrics like silk, satin, and wool. After thirty minutes, put your garment in the washing machine: at the end of the wash cycle it will be like new.

The second method  we will illustrate involves the use of  white vinegar.  White wine vinegar is a versatile product: in the culinary field it enriches our dishes; In the cleaning sector, it disinfects and removes stains. An ally that can save us even in the case of stubborn deodorant stains. What you need to do is very simple: simply  place the garment in a container filled with white wine vinegar  and let it soak for an hour. To aid in the stain removal process, it is a good idea  to scrub the stain with a  new toothbrush, but gently. This time you should also give the shirt a wash cycle and this time the stain will also be gone.

If the stain is recent and has not been present for days or weeks, you can act immediately by wearing  nylon stockings  . In this case you have to be careful: the offending shirt must be dark or black to be able to intervene with the nylon. You have to rub the nylon over the annoying white streaks left by the deodorant.  The alternative is a clean towel or socks:  rubbing them over the fresh stain will completely remove it.

Then you can use  baking soda.  Mixing baking soda and water will create a fairly dense and grainy mixture. By pouring the mixture onto the stain and rubbing it completely, the stain will disappear in no time. The important thing is, after rubbing the stain, to let everything sit for about twenty minutes. Twenty minutes is the time needed for the halo to completely disappear.  Once clarified you will notice its disappearance.
