Everyone tries to do what they can to save costs, also in the face of the inevitable hit at the end of the year, both in electricity and gas services and in the inevitable Christmas expenses.
Now, can you imagine being able to make your own organic detergent in the form of pellets at home, respectful of your skin and the environment (without phosphates, optical brighteners, preservatives or rare perfumes) and, at the same time, save a fortune?
Do not panic! Today’s recipe has simple ingredients that are easy to find in any store. So let’s start by explaining what it is.
Alternative soap with only 2 ingredients
To prepare a natural flavor made with only two ingredients we need to take a bar of yellow soap , one of those soft ones that can be cut with a knife, in Italy it is called Seaweed soap and is based on glycerin and coconut oil.
It looks like a yellow tile and is suitable for any type of hand washing, it is soft and totally biodegradable!
To make “our soap with only 2 ingredients” we have to take the bar of soap and cut it with a knife , it will be very simple because it is soft. We will cut it into small squares, then using our hands we will give it a spherical shape.
But we can make them in different sizes, they can be larger or smaller depending on the uses we want to give them.
So once we have prepared all the balls with the soap cut into pieces, we put them in a plastic container to which we will add a little talcum powder.
This way the balls will not stick to each other and we can use them as we want. In fact at this point our soap is ready and we can also use it, for example, to wash clothes in the washing machine .
To do this, simply place it directly in the dirty clothes basket, one ball will be enough depending on the amount of clothes and how dirty they are. The 2-ingredient soap is also ideal for pre-treating stains by hand.
2-ingredient soap for toilet limescale
This ball can also be squeezed and placed directly in the toilet, obviously not when it is still wet. We will wait until the toilet bowl is a little dry and when you push it well it will adhere to the bowl.
Every time we flush the toilet we don’t have to worry about it sticking, but the water will take away a part of the soap which will allow us to remove limescale from the toilet.
To clean steel sinks
We can also use these natural soap balls on steel , in fact it also cleans and lets the steel shine, just lather the sponge to clean even the steel countertop or sink naturally and without chemicals.
Once well scrubbed with the damp non-abrasive sponge and soap, we will remove everything with a microfiber cloth. In the end just dry it and everything will be perfectly clean.
These balls are also perfect for cleaning the wooden cutting board where we prepare our food. Being a natural soap, it does not contain chemical agents capable of penetrating the porosity of the wood.
