Tangerines, these small citrus fruits that fit in the palm of your hand, are known for their delicious and excellent taste. This food represents a significant boost for our health as it contains vitamins, especially vitamin C. The good news is that you can perfectly grow them yourself. That is, without harmful pesticides, but with very simple guidelines. Let’s go.
.
First of all, it is useful to remember how precious this food is for strengthening our immune system and our body benefits from a real hydrating contribution. Let’s see together how to proceed to benefit from your mandarins.
The seedbed preparation process
- You can use seeds that you have previously washed, but you can also buy seeds. For the flower pot , try to find a medium-sized one with a drainage hole. (Also know that thanks to pots it is possible to grow a large number of vegetables)
- At the bottom of the vase place some stones and then some sand. This filling allows for better air circulation.
- Then, prepare a humus-rich soil . Consider components such as perlite, peat or fertilizer.
- Water the soil and wait for it to reach adequate humidity . Be sure to avoid stagnant water.
- Carefully plant some seeds in your soil and then cover them with potting soil . One centimeter is enough.
- Apply clear plastic wrap to your pot to maintain humidity (you can also place the pot in a plastic bag). The germination process will only be faster.
- Make sure the jar is in a warm place . Therefore avoid sunlight, but place the vase in a place where the temperature is sufficiently high.
- Add a little water regularly. The goal is that the soil is never dry, but not soggy either . Count about 20 days before you notice the first shoots.
- When you see these first appearances, you can now remove the plastic film and place the vase in a bright place. This doesn’t mean exposing it to the sun.
- The spring and harvest months are coming, when it will be necessary to add fertilizer to the plant three times a month. Prefer a fertilizer in liquid form, composed of a good concentration of zinc, magnesium and iron.
Here are the steps. With time, you will see a tree gradually growing. It will become firmer and have good foliage. In this case, you will need to provide a larger container in which to transfer it.
You will continue to do the same as your tree grows in size and height. Of course, you have to take into account that it needs a certain amount of humidity depending on its size. Furthermore, if you live in a warm enough environment, you can grow your tree directly in the garden.
