Tips for cleaning your oven effectively

An essential component of the kitchen and home, the oven, like any other household appliance, must be regularly maintained so that it can last and maintain its performance. Today, we are going to finish the job by discovering, together, tips for cleaning your oven – especially its interior -. They are simple and accessible to everyone.

Use lemon

Among the tips for cleaning your oven, you have lemon. He will be one of your best allies. As you know, it has interesting cleaning properties. The fruit is capable of effectively eliminating food microorganisms and bacteria that have accumulated over use. Even more: lemon is perfect for eliminating bad odors.

To start, cut the fruit in half to extract the precious juice. This must be put in a saucepan which must be placed in the oven. Leave it in for about 30 minutes at a temperature of 300 degrees. Once done, clean the walls with a damp cloth. Result: a clean and deliciously scented oven.

Clean your oven with white vinegar

Here is another natural solution that you are very familiar with by now: white vinegar. Just like lemon, it has excellent degreasing properties. This is one of the best tips for cleaning your oven. For the instructions, it’s practically the same thing: take a glass of white vinegar and pour it into a saucepan. Then put it in the oven at a temperature between 100 and 120 degrees for about fifteen minutes. Finally, clean the walls.

Baking soda

To clean your oven, you can also use baking soda. To do this, simply mix it, for example, with white wine vinegar. Then, take a damp sponge – soaked in the precious liquid – to pass it over the walls and remove the stains. Also note that it is entirely possible to mix baking soda, salt and water. Just remember to let the mixture sit for an hour before using it. It will be useful for cleaning the walls of the oven, as well as the interior.

Think outside the device

The exterior of the oven should also have your attention. It is subject to all kinds of dirt and food residue, and the stains can sometimes be stubborn! To clean it, all you need is a mild cleanser, such as soap and warm water. Furthermore, if dirt persists despite these tips, do not hesitate to obtain cleaners specially designed for the oven. Before using them, remember to wear gloves to protect the skin on your hands. Also avoid using it when the oven is still hot.

Even though messes seem to be inevitable, there are ways to limit the mess and make cleaning the oven easier. For example, we advise you to place an aluminum sheet at the bottom of the cavity. This way, the various projections will fall on it instead of dirtying the device. Also remember to carry out cleaning tasks regularly to avoid the accumulation of dirt and to make your work easier.
