How do you eliminate the over 8,000 bacteria present in the refrigerator?

Like toilets or kitchen sponges,  the inside of the refrigerator is a real hotbed of bacteria . In fact, according to various sources,  there are over 8,000 bacteria present there .

We must act quickly because some of these bacteria are dangerous to our health. If you don’t pay enough attention, they can be a source of poisoning. However, most bacteria are harmless.

What is the most important rule for eliminating bacteria from the refrigerator?

First of all, you need to  unplug the refrigerator  in order to work safely. Next, you will have to remove all the components of the refrigerator (shelves, compartments…).

So, you need to check all expiration dates on foods and immediately throw any smelly food in the trash.

As soon as  the refrigerator  is completely empty, you can wash the shelves one by one. You can clean them with  kitchen tail  and lemon or directly in the dishwasher.

You can also use  a solution of baking soda and lemon to clean the inside of the refrigerator . Just dip a sponge in and clean. As soon as the shelves are dry, you can install them in the refrigerator.

How to eliminate the approximately 8,000 bacteria present in the refrigerator?

To keep the inside of the refrigerator free of bacteria, you can  use uncooked white rice . There are two ways to use it:

  • Soak them in water for two days and then use the water to disinfect them. Transfer the liquid to a spray bottle and spray the inside of the refrigerator before wiping it down with a cloth.
  • The other method involves  placing the rice in a bowl and placing it in the refrigerator for 5 days  so that it can absorb all the moisture it contains.

In addition to white rice, you can also  use baking soda . This white powder not only cleans the refrigerator but also deodorizes it.

To use it, you need to  mix hot water and baking soda  and pass it on all the internal surfaces of the refrigerator.

You can add more or less white powder to get the desired consistency. In this way it is possible to eliminate the most stubborn dirt and mold that infiltrates the corners of the refrigerator.
