How to preserve lemons for a whole year


Do you like buying loose lemons and want to find a way to preserve them? With this technique, you can keep them for a whole year! Isn’t that incredible? After a year they are still bright, turgid and juicy. The traditional method is to cut them into quarters, leave them intact on the bottom and sprinkle salt inside, but with this method it is not necessary to cut them. Read on or watch the video below for full instructions.

Ingredients

  • four cups of hot water
  • two tablespoons of salt (she used real Redmond salt)
  • organic lemons
  • vase with lid and shoulder

Instructions

Phase 1:

In a bowl, add four cups of hot water and two tablespoons of salt. The warm water will help the salt dissolve faster. Mix well with a spoon.

Second step:

Wash the lemons carefully. To wash them you can use warm water and soap. Make sure to remove the dirt from the peel and then rinse them with water. Then, put them in the jar and close them tightly. The shoulders of the jar will ensure that they are submerged below the liquid line.
