Olive Seedling With Stone, The Farmer’s Trick
Italian farmers who are experts in tradition advise not to throw away the olive stone found inside the pulp. This is to implement a nice trick, to be done with just a few steps.

The first phase involves:
- Choose olives with a regular shape, without any blemishes and large ones of all types;
- Immediately afterwards, simply eat the pulp and keep the stone clean, rinsing it under water at room temperature;
- Take an abrasive sponge and remove all the pulp that remains attached, so that the stone is completely clean and rinse again.
Let’s move on to the second step :
- To recreate what happens in nature, the stones must be immersed in white wine vinegar for two hours. The olive is usually eaten by birds and the stone passes through their digestive tract, before ending up directly in the soil. An important step to recreate the process, precisely because the pH of the vinegar corrodes the hard part of the stone;
- Following the storage time, rinse completely.
The third phase involves:
- Remove the part at the tip of the seed carefully and with the help of a knife;
- Immediately afterwards, take the ready hazelnut and bury it in a jar containing some universal soil, making it moist with water;
- Place the stones at a depth of about one centimeter (one stone for each jar, not all in the same one).
Once these steps have been carried out , surround the vase with the transparent plastic bag and place it in a bright place with the temperature reaching 20°C or in any case no less than 15°C.
Make small holes in the plastic bag and after two months the first sprout should emerge, moving the pot to a place sheltered from the heat. When the plant is taller then it will be necessary to repot it in a larger pot
