In this article we are going to talk to you about some  tricks  so that your iron is always  clean and smooth  .

How to make your iron like new again

To clean the iron and make it soft again like it was just purchased, we can use some  detergents  designed for this purpose. They are  sticks  to pass with   circular movements   through the   hot iron:  the temperature should be around 145°. The product is then removed with a  clean, dry cloth.

DIY methods to clean the iron.

As an alternative to chemicals and detergents, we can use quick and effective solutions with natural ingredients. Then you need white vinegar and fine salt.

To clean the iron, simply fill a container with  warm water,  two tablespoons of   white vinegar  and a little  fine salt  . With the freshly made solution we can clean the  surface of the iron cold  , finally removing it with a   soft, dry cloth  .

Of course, it is also possible to use a mixture of  baking soda   and   lemon  to use with a rough sponge  on the cold iron. The effect is guaranteed, but in this case you have to be  delicate.

The wax method to clean the iron.

It is a somewhat bizarre remedy compared to the others:  wax  .

Simply melt the tip of a  candle  and pour it onto the iron, being careful  not to block  the steam holes by mistake. The wax must then be removed with  absorbent paper  .

Other remedies to clean the iron

Taking care of the surface of the iron is important to iron without problems and not dirty your clothes. But even the  inside of the small appliance must be kept clean so that it always has a constant   and   regular  steam emission   . To do this, you can always use  demineralized water,  that is, water free of mineral salts, thus avoiding the formation of  limescale deposits  .

The water collected  from the dehumidifier  is excellent for cleaning the inside of the iron, since it is demineralized!

The same  demineralized water can be used with   white vinegar  to clean nearly clogged holes. Simply insert it into the tank and turn on the iron to steam.
