Giving birth to new seedlings is not difficult and most of the time a simple germinated seed is enough . As you know, inside the apple we find several seeds that you can use to create your apple plant that could slowly grow into a tree. It will certainly take some time.
So let’s see how you can create an apple seedling from just apple waste , the part you normally throw away. In the following paragraph you will find all the steps and all the tips for a successful birth. It takes very little, that’s how you have to do it.
Apple plant – this is how to grow it from a seed
As we just said, it is possible to give birth to an apple tree at home simply by starting from the apple seed. In fact, it will take you very little time to create a plantation but you will have to be very patient because the times will be long . You certainly won’t see the fruit on the plant, but over time and years you may.
First, choose a riper apple and open it, taking care not to damage the central part that contains the seeds. Always stop with the knife before the center and then use your hands to open it. Once you have obtained the seeds, you will need to germinate them. This is how you have to do it.
Get a plastic or glass container with an airtight seal . Apply a white cloth napkin inside and insert the seeds inside . Close the handkerchief and with a spray vaporize the water on it. It should be moist and not soaked with water. Now close it and leave it in sunlight (not direct rays) for 10 days.
After this time, open the container and check if the seeds have germinated . It is important that they do not get moldy. At this point we must now plant the germinated seeds and leave those that have not yet germinated inside the container. Now take a 10cm diameter pot and fill it with peat moss . If you can’t find it, you can replace it with good quality soft, draining universal soil.
Now make a hole about 3 or 4 cm deep. With the help of tweezers, take the sprouted seed and place it in the hole . The root must go below and the seed above. Be very careful not to damage it. Then cover everything with soil and moisten with a spray. Place it in a place with plenty of light but not directly in the sun.
Little by little you will notice that the sprout will grow larger and larger. After about 7 days, you will see a small 4 cm seedling. After a month, the first leaves will begin to grow. Over time the plant will grow larger and larger. When the plant exceeds 1 m in height and 1 cm in trunk diameter, grafting can be carried out.
