All the tricks to care for indoor plants

Everything you need to know to care for indoor plants.

Indoor plants not only beautify your rooms, but also bring a lot of joy and purify the rooms .

If you already have some, here’s what you need to know to treat them better and keep them healthy.

  • First of all, you should know that houseplants are nothing more than medium and small plants that can be grown even in low light areas.
  • We advise you to buy them from  nurseries  or florists, so you can see them up close and  identify  any pests or  diseases .
  • After bringing a new one into the house, leave it in its pot for 3 or 4 days to  get used  to the new environment.
  • If you feel that the container it was sold to you in is too small, proceed with a  transplant  by choosing a container large enough to contain the roots and allow for growth.
  • As for the location inside the house, this obviously varies from one plant to another, each one needs a certain amount of  daily light  .
  • Plants that grow well even in the absence of light are, for example, the peace lily, sansevieria and phalangium.
  • Soil preparation for indoor plants is almost always the same, prepare a universal soil mixture, add one part  perlite , one part  peat moss and one  part  compost  (also homemade).
  • The soil tends to always be moist, but remember that water evaporates slowly in the house, so  watering  may be less frequent.
  • The best way to understand if our plant needs water is to always  touch the soil  and check its humidity.
  • These plants don’t really need to be pruned, but if you want to increase growth or notice dry, burnt leaves, you can proceed with  light pruning  .
  • Finally, houseplants can also be affected by  pest infestations . You can prevent them by periodically using a mild antiparasitic spray, a solution consisting of 5 ml of Neem oil, water and 10 drops of liquid soap will do.
  • Spray once every 15 days for prevention or once a week if already infested.
