Garlic generally needs some important precautions and some favorable conditions to keep well.  Sprouting is certainly a phenomenon that demonstrates poor conservation of garlic . When the green shoots begin to grow, in fact, it means that the garlic is beginning to deteriorate. Typically, there are two conditions that accelerate this negative process: light and humidity.

In general,  garlic is an ingredient that is preserved for a long  time and that we can use in the kitchen at any time, but if we do not create the right conditions, we can easily lose it. To preserve garlic perfectly, therefore, we advise you  to keep both the light and the humidity of the environment in which it is located under control . These are the most effective storage methods.

How to store garlic correctly?

To preserve garlic for a long time, we recommend that you first opt ​​for special containers. For example,  you can store it inside glass jars with lids, to close it  tightly, to prevent moisture from forming. Before carrying out this operation, of course, make sure that the jars are very clean and completely dry. You can also take a small amount of fresh garlic and place it in the jar in wedges or minced. In this case, you will need to pay attention to any dirty skin or parts.

At this stage, you need to place the jar with garlic in a  dark and dry place.  We advise you to keep it away from direct sunlight and the kitchen sink, which turns out to be a very dangerous source of moisture. It is preferable, therefore,  to keep the jar inside a pantry where the temperature remains constant and moderate . This is the ideal solution to perfectly preserve garlic without risk of deterioration. Having created the right conditions, you will find that green shoots will not grow at all. By avoiding the sprouting process, your garlic will always stay fresh and good and will definitely last longer.

If you adopt these remedies and follow these tips,  you can keep garlic intact , using it if necessary for the preparation of many tasty recipes. In addition to having an intense flavor, this ingredient also has many beneficial properties for the body, therefore, we simply cannot do without it.
