Withered orchid, there is still hope: with this ingredient it comes back to life
The orchid is one of the plants most loved by women, it beautifies and brightens the home, with splendid colors, simply cheerful, that make the environment warm and welcoming. Many women keep it in the living room, others in the garden, on the terrace or balcony or even on the windowsill.
Unfortunately, not all of us have good hands at gardening, there are those who simply do not know how to take care of plants despite making a thousand different attempts to obtain a good result.
If a plant dies despite the care and attention, we promise not to take more, then we usually give in and history repeats itself. If your orchid is almost dead, don’t worry, the last word hasn’t been said yet, maybe we can somehow bring it back to life and make it perfect again, in a splendid way.
The trick that allows you to give life to the orchid again
If we intervene in the world that follows, we will be able to remedy a situation that is certainly unpleasant and complicated , sometimes even dramatic. Very few ingredients and tools that we all have at home or that can be easily found in any store are enough to bring the dead orchid back to life without spending too much money and without effort.
What you need is ground cinnamon, a plastic bottle, some scissors, a dish sponge, even a used one will do, a plastic bag, some bark, a water vaporizer and a flower pot .
Here’s how and what to do to revive the plant in a few easy steps.
The plant is removed from the pot, the dead parts are removed, therefore dry branches, petals, coma leaves, roots. For this, sterilized scissors are used. Then you take the cinnamon powder and pass it over it, this prevents the flower from contracting mold fungi or any other disease. At this point, place the orchid in a dry place for two days. It should be placed on a cotton cloth. Then it is transplanted, for this you need a plastic bottle with the neck cut off, then small holes are made in the base to allow excess water to flow.
Place a damp sponge on the base, it should be sterilized and clean even if used, then place the orchid on top and cover it with a bag. This serves to create the greenhouse effect that allows the seedling to grow quickly in the heat and shelter from the elements. The bottle must be completely covered, the bag must remain still so if you are afraid that it may move, you can apply wire to it. All of this will help the orchid to recover after a maximum of one or two months and become a plant full of life again. So you have to remember that you have to expose it to the sun all year round except in summer, otherwise it will die from too high temperatures. Once the new roots have sprouted, you transplant it and that’s it.
What you need to know to take good care of the plant throughout the year
You must remember that when watering your orchid, you should not use the usual method of pouring water directly on it.
The best method would be natural, that is, rainwater, since tap water is dangerous because it is calcareous water. It would be best to submerge the vase for up to 5 to 10 minutes in a bucket of water. The plant lives best in humid places, such as the kitchen or bathroom.
What soil is best to use?
It is advisable not to use normal potting soil but the special one for orchids that is sold in all plant stores and nurseries. Fertilization is necessary and is carried out from March to October, twice a month.
When the plant has wilted or is about to wilt, it can be made to bloom again by simply cutting the branch above the second node. It may happen that the plant develops aerial roots that even extend outside the pot. Although you may have the opposite sensation, this is a sign of the plant’s well-being, it means that it is fine, therefore it is not necessary to act in any way.
