First of all, the position, temperature and sunlight are very important: it is therefore advisable to place the orchid in an area of the house where there are no drafts or radiators. We then recommend a temperature of around 20°C and, finally, light that is not direct.Watering is also very important, the plant must always be moist, not dry and not full of water. If these small precautions are not followed, the plant can suffer consequences, flowers that fall, leaves that turn yellow and rotten roots that must be irremediably cut  . Let’s see this last case, that is, the cultivation of an orchid without roots  .

Here’s what to do if you have a rootless orchid

If you have an orchid with rotten roots, it is better to cut them off rather than leave it there. To do this, first of all remove the orchid from the pot and cut off all the rotten roots with a pair of scissors. If you need to remove them all, don’t worry. There is actually a way to regrow completely healthy roots, and now we’ll look at it.

When you have completely cut the roots, also remove all the branches and cut the base where the roots are well attached  . At this point you can sprinkle turmeric or cinnamon to disinfect the area and prevent mold.To carry out the procedure you will go beyond what you normally do. Normally you water the roots in water, but this time we will water the leaves  . Just take an absolutely transparent glass, because light must pass through, and put the leaves in it with about 4 or 5 centimeters of water. To prevent the roots from breaking off, use a toothpick.

At this point, all you have to do is wait. During the first 15 days you will see very small lumps and this means that the method is working  . In 3 or 4 months you will start to see roots of a few centimeters. Always remember to add water when it is finished in the vase.
