Pour detergent into the toilet Here is the secret trick of plumbers

Your toilet probably doesn’t require much maintenance other than regular cleaning, as long as it isn’t clogged. Actually, the main problem comes when you try to wash it and the water doesn’t flow properly. It is very likely that the toilet is clogged with limescale residue and dirt. Fortunately, there are some very effective tricks to solve this annoying problem. You probably won’t need to hire a plumber, so you can save some money.

Clogging the toilet is certainly not the most pleasant task in the world. Except that it is unimaginable to remain inert and ignore the situation. This is a particularly annoying and unpleasant problem for the whole family. But rest assured, it is possible to fix it without the help of a specialist. With the precious trick of simple and economical dish detergent, it is possible to unclog the toilet quickly and without too much effort.

What happens when you pour dish soap down the toilet?

To unclog the toilet, you have the ideal ingredient in your kitchen: dish detergent. Since its consistency is slippery, it helps lubricate the clogged pipe, making it easier to loosen stuck dirt.

And then? Pour about half a cup of detergent into the toilet bowl and let it soak for 10 minutes. Then pour 1 liter of hot water and wait another 25 minutes. You will notice that in the meantime the soapy water gradually sinks. Empty the toilet tank so that all the cleaning solution flows down the drain.

Good to know: If you run out of flushing, cut a bar of commercial soap into small pieces and add them to the toilet bowl.

If the toilet does not clog on the first application, the blockage is serious. In this case, repeat the process several times until it is completely clear.

Another cheap trick that will save you the plumber’s money

Another equally practical solution highlights the powerful effects of baking soda and apple cider vinegar. These are two natural and versatile products, perfect for disinfecting, descaling and deodorizing toilets.

Instructions : pour half a sachet of sodium bicarbonate and a glass of vinegar into the basin. Once the reaction of the mixture is complete, pour in as much hot water. This method works with even the most stubborn clogs and saves you having to purchase a pump or other expensive cleaning chemicals.

Note : You can also use salt to keep the bathroom clean. Place about 100 g of coarse salt and sprinkle it around the edges. Leave it on for about three hours and then wash the bathroom as usual. It will be shiny, clean and without any unpleasant odor!

Other effective solutions for unclogging the toilet

– Make a drain snake with a wire hanger

A more serious obstruction may require more tedious manual work, but without using the suction cup. You need to create a homemade drain snake by unrolling a wire coat hanger until it becomes straight. Push one end of the string into the clogged area to loosen the limescale and debris until it flows into the drain.

– Bleach, vinegar or club soda

Bleach is a great solution because it can break down waste quickly. Simply pour 2-3 cups of product into the toilet bowl, wait 10-15 minutes and flush. This approach works best for heavily clogged toilets. White wine vinegar also has its part: it can eliminate blockages and clean the premises. In a saucepan, heat 1/2 liter of vinegar with 1 liter of water. Then pour everything into the basin and leave to soak for 20 minutes. When you flush the toilet, you will notice the release. Finally, the soda trick is definitely less likely to work, but it has been proven to work. Thanks to its acids (carbonic and phosphoric), even a simple can of cola can help clean the toilet.

– Blotting paper

This tip is even recommended by plumbers themselves. Lift the toilet seat and literally wrap it in aluminum foil.
