In a TikTok video on social media, experts at Driving Test Success said that drivers can de-ice their windshield by simply turning on the car fan and then can use the fan at normal speed once the windshield is clear.

If the windshield is icy, set the front windshield fan to maximum speed. The ice will melt quickly due to the heat. Then, wipe off the excess water and return the fan to normal speed. This video received over a thousand likes on TikTok.

The experts at Driving Test Success aren’t the only ones encouraging drivers to use the car’s heater.

Do not use windshield wipers or washers to de-ice the windshield, it will do no good.
