Suffering a burglary<\/strong> in your home is certainly not a pleasant experience<\/strong> . The fear<\/strong> has grown since the pandemic<\/strong> . This is due to the fact that the way<\/strong> of living in the home has changed<\/strong> quite a bit . In fact, 61 %<\/strong> of people spend<\/strong> much more time<\/strong> there than they used to.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report from the Verisure Italia<\/strong> Home Security Observatory , carried out by Censis<\/strong> thanks to the collaboration of the Criminal Analysis Service<\/strong> of the Ministry of the Interior, it was found<\/strong> that approximately 9 million<\/strong> Italians have suffered<\/strong> at least one burglary<\/strong> at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in fact, at the top of the fears of Italians<\/strong> for 52.8%<\/strong> is precisely that of suffering<\/strong> a burglary at home. The percentage<\/strong> rises to 58.6%<\/strong> among people<\/strong> who live in a single villa<\/strong> or a small house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although, between 2013 and 2022<\/strong> there was a decrease<\/strong> in both thefts and robberies at home by 46.9%<\/strong> . The percentages change<\/strong> when we talk about very large metropolitan cities<\/strong> such as, for example, Rome<\/strong> and Milan<\/a> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, in Rome<\/strong> in 2022 there were more than 11,600 thefts<\/strong> , which are equal to 8.7%<\/strong> of the national total. In the step<\/strong> immediately below we find Milan<\/strong> with 9,081 thefts equal to 6.8%<\/strong> . Turin<\/strong> follows with 4.4%<\/strong> or 5,875 thefts<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And 20%<\/strong> of the thefts committed in Italy in a year<\/strong> are concentrated in these cities<\/strong> . If you look at it from a different <\/strong>perspective<\/strong> , i.e. considering the incidence<\/strong> of thefts compared to residents,<\/strong> then Bologna<\/strong> is in first place<\/strong> with 35.7 crimes<\/strong> per 10,000<\/strong> residents.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florence<\/strong> follows with 33.7<\/strong> thefts per 10,000 inhabitants and Venice<\/strong> with 33.5<\/strong> . In this work , an index of domestic security<\/strong> at regional level was also developed<\/strong> as perceived<\/strong> by citizens.<\/strong><\/strong>Furto-Imilanesi.it<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This allows you to make a ranking<\/strong> of the Italian regions from safest<\/strong> to least safe. And from this report<\/strong> it emerges that the safest is the Marche region<\/strong> with a value of 117.3<\/strong> out of 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lombardy in 17th place<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Followed by the regions of Friuli <\/strong>Venezia Giulia<\/strong> with 111.9 out of 100 and Trentino Alto Adig<\/strong> with 11.7<\/strong> again out of 100<\/strong> . In last place<\/strong> is the Lazio<\/strong> region . Citizens, in terms of their level of home security,<\/strong> perceive it as unsafe<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lazio’s index is equal to 73.8<\/strong> out of 100. Preceded only by Campania<\/strong> with 82.4 and Puglia<\/strong> with 89.8 on a per 100<\/strong> basis .
