If you have a small house,<\/strong> but don’t want to give up having a nativity scene,<\/strong> a good idea might be to build it<\/strong> yourself. In fact, it is not necessary for it to be large and full<\/strong> of statues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is always possible to opt<\/strong> for a different solution than usual and above all do it yourself<\/strong> . And what’s more , children can also be involved<\/strong> . The first thing<\/strong>  to do is collect the necessary material<\/strong> , preferably recycled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An idea could be to use empty glass jars<\/strong> . And since, in this case, the space<\/strong> is rather limited, consequently the characters<\/strong> will not only have to be small in size,<\/strong> but we will have to be satisfied with the main<\/strong> characters .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the project you therefore need an empty glass jar<\/strong> , some salt and some small pieces of wood<\/strong> with colored wool<\/strong> . We cover the bottom of the jar with salt for the <\/strong>snow<\/strong> effect that cannot be missed at Christmas .<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nativity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the Nativity<\/strong> , Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus can be built<\/strong> with pieces of wood covered with colored <\/strong>wool<\/strong> threads . Wooden spheres<\/strong> of the appropriate size for the body can then be glued on top .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then they must be colored with markers<\/strong> or tempera. The twigs that were used for the characters’ bodies can then also be used to <\/strong>build<\/strong> the hut. The baby Jesus<\/strong> is then placed either in a small basket or in the  shell<\/strong> of a walnut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the glass jar is large enough you can add other figurines<\/strong> or small fir trees. A quicker job is to create the Nativity by painting it<\/strong> on the glass of the jar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the snow effect <\/strong>, coarse salt<\/strong> or cotton balls  can be added . A  very impressive job is <\/strong>to draw<\/strong> each character of the Nativity on light bulbs<\/strong> that no longer work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pine cones and wool<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Once you have drawn<\/strong> all the characters you want for your nativity scene,<\/strong> simply add a ribbon<\/strong> to each lamp and hang it<\/strong> wherever you want. Another very nice and natural<\/strong> idea is to build the characters with pine cones<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First of all you need to collect<\/strong> pine cones of different sizes. They dress in tailor- made<\/strong> clothes using carded wool<\/strong> or woolen cloth.
