But this year we could try a different route, and create<\/strong> our own decorations. Nothing gives more satisfaction than seeing an object<\/strong> take shape and complete thanks to our commitment<\/strong> and dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can feel a bit like artists as well as spending<\/strong> less, using what we already have and not fueling<\/strong> the use of plastic. Let us be inspired,<\/strong> therefore, by creative ideas<\/strong> with the recycling of old sweaters<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we don’t have any we can always find<\/strong> some in second hand shops, or in markets<\/a> that sell for charity.<\/strong> We will certainly find what we need. The possibilities are many and unique decorations can be obtained .<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little trees and gnomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To create, for example, mini<\/strong> Christmas trees, all we need is a cork<\/strong> , of the type used for sparkling wine, and a small  triangular cutout<\/strong> of the sweater. We roll<\/strong> the wool several times to give the right pointed shape .<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And also the right consistency<\/strong> for the foliage of our fir tree. We then secure the final flap<\/strong> with wire or hot <\/strong>glue<\/strong> . If necessary we fill with wadding to<\/strong> give support. Finally we insert<\/strong> the cap as a trunk,<\/strong> always stopping it with glue<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same way we can make small hats<\/strong> for gnomes, whose body<\/strong> is always made up of the same cap<\/strong> . The lower part should be covered with a piece<\/strong> of wool that acts as a dress.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this we can sew<\/strong> buttons or bows. On the top<\/strong> we glue the hat<\/strong> , leaving only a small segment<\/strong> of the cap for the face to emerge. We can also use this procedure<\/strong>   to make small Santa Clauses<\/strong> . In this case we add a mini<\/strong> wooden or cotton sphere in place of the nose and <\/strong>stuff<\/strong> the hood so that it remains very straight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wool and pine cones<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Another creation<\/strong> could be a dress<\/strong> for the cup or for a glass candle holder<\/strong> . We use a narrow part<\/strong> of the sweater, for example the turtleneck collar , cut it lengthwise and leave the <\/strong>side<\/strong> open for the possible handle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then put some buttons<\/strong> or ribbons to close the flaps around it. We also sew<\/strong> colored pieces of fabric or stars.
