how to do it

With the arrival of summer, annoying mosquitoes reappear, which in their own tiny way are perfectly capable of ruining even the best evening.

There are many products on the market that are passed off with more or less foundation as lethal anti-mosquito weapons, both to apply to the skin and to spray at home or outside. In the following lines we will tell you another possibility, which consists of preparing a DIY mosquito trap that attracts them and makes them prisoners, thus solving the problem.

It has been voted the best mosquito trap ever! Here we explain how to do it

This is the trap made in the shape of a bottle. You might wonder what it is. Well, the first thing is to get a bottle: a simple mineral water bottle of one and a half or even two liters is fine. After that, you need hot water, sugar and brewer’s yeast, as well as black cardboard and tape.

How to proceed to create the anti-mosquito bottle

The first thing is to cut the plastic bottle at a distance of about 5-10 centimeters from the point where it begins to shrink. You have to keep both sides, then heat the water and sugar and boil everything for about ten minutes. Then it is left to cool. Now we have to pour this mixture into the bottom of the bottle.

At this point, brewer’s yeast is also added: you can use the dough (in this case it is better to dissolve it first in a little warm water) or the powdered version, pouring the entire sachet.

At this point, the top part of the bottle is recovered (removing the cork) and the other is placed upside down. The two parts are taped together to prevent the chemical reaction between the ingredients from taking place outside the container. At the end, cover the edges with dark cardboard.

The combination of the three ingredients produces a large amount of carbon dioxide, which, as you may not have known, mosquitoes really like. CO2 forms at the bottom of the bottle, and when mosquitoes try to reach it, they get stuck.

The DIY trap can last a couple of weeks, then you change.

It has been voted the best
