How nice it would be to polish and clean matte wood with a single pass! But, above all, what satisfaction we would have in returning that beloved piece of furniture to its former glory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wooden furniture immediately evokes the warmth of a cozy home and is a favorite from generation to generation. So much so that some of grandma’s accessories are often passed down to the grandchildren to beautify and warm the atmosphere! But as time goes by, they become opaque. Dust, a certain carelessness in the care of a \u201cliving\u201d material, contribute to extinguishing its image, making it old and obsolete. However, to restore them to their original light, all you need are a few ingredients, all natural and effective, free of cost and respectful of the ecosystem, there is nothing to do, grandmothers knew better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polishing and cleaning matte wood with simple natural remedies: my grandmother’s method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let’s start with the polishing product par excellence: olive oil. If you have only used it in the kitchen so far, don’t miss the opportunity to also try it as a detergent and rinse aid. For old and boring furniture, its properties are unsurpassed. Soak a cotton ball with a drop of oil and wipe it over the affected areas. Let it sit and wipe it with a clean wool cloth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To continue with the culinary theme, don’t overlook the benefits of apple cider vinegar, perfect for wood care. Dampen a microfiber cloth and wring it well to remove excess water, then add a few drops of vinegar, then rub it over the wood in circular motions. Rinse and let dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course, lemon juice could not be missing, which combines cleaning and polishing power with an intoxicating aroma. Squeeze a medium-sized citrus fruit, strain the juice and pour it onto a soft sponge, then wipe it over the cabinet and enjoy the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now we go to a very powerful mixture based on baking soda and Marseille soap. Just 2 tablespoons of each of these two ingredients dissolved in 500 ml of water to obtain a very effective solution. You will return the wood to a new one. Pour a few drops of this mixture on a cloth and wipe it in the closet! Result? A very clean and shiny surface!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
