you want to eat them. Here’s how to do it in 10 minutes flat with this simple trick.

Avocado: a difficult fruit to preserve

Avocado is not an easy fruit to preserve. Far from being cheap, they are often thrown away because they get mushy too quickly.

On the other hand, when you get to cut it, you find that it is hard as a rock and the knife can barely get through it.

Sometimes you can wait a few days before eating avocado, but often you need to eat it right away in a salad or on toast.

If you have an underripe avocado, here’s how to ripen it in just 10 minutes.

Ripening an avocado: the DaveHax technique

DaveHax shared his method on YouTube for getting ripe avocados in just 10 minutes.

If you don’t want to simply wait several days before enjoying your avocado, Dave asked avocado lovers to grab a piece of aluminum foil.

Then wrap the chosen avocado in the center of the aluminum foil, covering all parts well.

Place the wrapped avocado in a baking dish and place in a preheated oven at approximately 200 degrees Fahrenheit or 93.3 degrees Celsius.

Placing the avocado in the oven gently releases the gas around it and helps speed up the ripening process.

After about 10 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and place the avocado on a cooling rack.

Allow to cool completely and remove the aluminum foil once it has completely cooled.

Carefully cut the avocado in half, remove the stone and enjoy. According to the expert, the fruit is perfect for eating.

However, he cautioned that while 10 minutes is perfect for an avocado to ripen in the oven, it may take a little longer depending on the state of the fruit.

This method works for slightly ripe avocados, but not for fully firm ones.

Another way to ripen avocados faster

Take an avocado, an apple and a paper bag.

This method can take up to 72 hours.

Place the avocado inside the paper bag with the apple.

Poke small holes in the paper bag and leave it on a surface at room temperature.

Apples can speed up the ripening of other fruits by producing ethylene, which speeds up the ripening of surrounding fruits.

<p
