In a TikTok video on social media, experts at Driving Test Success<\/strong>  said that drivers can de-ice their windshield by simply turning on the car fan and then can  use the fan at normal speed<\/strong>  once the windshield is clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s what the experts say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the windshield is icy, set the front windshield fan to maximum speed. The ice will melt quickly due to the heat. Then, wipe off the excess water and return the fan to normal speed. This video received over a thousand likes on TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One user said: \u201cWow, this is magical! The ice has magically disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, another user added: \u201cIt wastes more fuel. Go outside and scrape, it’s as simple as that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experts at Driving Test Success aren’t the only ones encouraging drivers to use the car’s heater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another video, Clear View Driving<\/strong>  road users are told to  use the demister before driving.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do not use windshield wipers or washers to de-ice the windshield, it will do no good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, turn on the front and rear defrosters. In fact, on most new cars, the rear defroster also heats the side mirrors<\/strong> . However, if your mirrors are not clean, be sure to clean them before you leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver can also activate the hot air fan and heated mirrors to quickly remove the frost layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
