With the days getting hotter, the  balcony <\/strong> becomes a place where you can find a little  relaxation <\/strong> or where you can sit and drink a good  coffee<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether small or large, the balcony represents our  home garden <\/em> and, as such, should be decorated with many beautiful  plants<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many, however, complain of not being able to have the  flowered balcony <\/strong> they would like: the plants always appear bare and dry and there is no trace of  flowers <\/strong> !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there a way to have a  balcony <\/strong> that is always  in bloom <\/strong> with very little effort? Absolutely yes! Just follow some very simple  tips<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If, in fact,   direct sun never shines  on your balcony , you must choose plants that prefer partial shade, such as <\/strong>roses<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If, however, your  balcony<\/strong>  is exposed to the sun, decorate it with plants that love bright environments, such as  geraniums<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obviously, you must also take into account the  average <\/strong>temperature<\/strong>   of the places where you live: some plants prefer high temperatures, others lower ones.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water regularly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To always have flowering plants you must  water<\/strong>  your plants without forgetting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ideal is to establish a morning time in which to do a sort of  reconnaissance tour<\/em> , checking the status of all the  plants<\/strong>  you have on the  balcony<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water according to the needs of each plant and remembering that, for many ornamental plants,  watering<\/strong>  must be  regular<\/strong>  and not excessive, otherwise you run the risk of causing the  roots<\/strong> to rot .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NB: <\/strong> usually, watering is avoided in  the evening<\/strong>  because with the nightly  temperature<\/strong> drop , the water may not be absorbed correctly and damage the plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take the seasons into account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Flowery balcony yes, but in the right seasons! Surely you don’t think of having  flowering cyclamens<\/strong>  in summer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To decorate your  balcony<\/strong> , choose plants that flower in that particular  season<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, in  spring-summer<\/strong> , you can decorate it with  geraniums<\/strong> ,  hydrangeas<\/strong> ,  camellias<\/strong>  or many other plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fertilize<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To have flowering plants on your balcony, it is important  to fertilize them<\/strong>  so as to have   more  abundant<\/strong>  and  longer <\/strong>blooms<\/strong> .<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The type of  fertilizer<\/strong>  and methods of administration depend on the type of plant. In general, however,  potassium<\/strong>  -based fertilizers or fertilizers are used  to stimulate flowering<\/strong> .<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, some plants must be  fertilized<\/strong>  as early as  March<\/strong> , therefore before actual flowering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be careful when the days are too hot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As much as they may be lovers of the sun and high temperatures, sometimes the summer days are too  hot<\/strong>  and the heat may not allow  flowering<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If  it is usually   too hot  on your balcony in <\/strong>summer , put up <\/strong>curtains<\/strong>  or move the plants to a   more  sheltered <\/strong>place<\/strong> where there is some  coolness<\/strong> .<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alternatively, you can  spray<\/strong>  a little water on the  foliage<\/strong>  of the plants to keep them  cool<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep pests away<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Heat, blooms and\u2026  parasites<\/strong> ! Unfortunately, with the  summer <\/strong>,<\/strong>  parasite attacks become more frequent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During your daily check of the plants, always check that there are no suspicious insects on the leaves and flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pests, such as  aphids<\/strong>  and  scale insects<\/strong> , weaken the plant which sometimes does not have enough energy to  flower<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your plants are  infested<\/strong> , take action using specific products or by spraying the plants with a mix of  water<\/strong>  and  Marseille soap<\/strong>  to ward off these unwelcome guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
